The Gallery Garanti follows the agendas of architecture and design through activities and publications.

The Gallery Garanti (GG), which was founded following the conversion of the Garanti Art Gallery in 2003, has focused on projects that merge all disciplines related to architecture, planning and design through exhibitions, activities and publications.

During the last six years GG has looked beyond the borders of popularity with its research and production based structure; receiving support from and redirecting it to scientific circles. Recently the institution has become a domestic and foreign center of interest because of its city based investigations and commitment to publishing data, statistics, texts and imagery in particular on its home city Istanbul.

Since its foundation in 2003 up until November 2009, The Gallery Garanti realized 36 exhibitions with 6 of them abroad, 5 exhibition presentations, 14 conferences, 17 workshops, 1 concert, 4 panels, 11 round table discussions and 2 guided tours. GG has published 5 books in addition to its exhibition brochures. International collaborations include the presentation of 'Becoming Istanbul' at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM, Frankfurt) during the Frankfurt Book Fair. 'Becoming Istanbul', consisting of an interactive database on today’s Istanbul and a 16 minute film titled 'Mapping Istanbul', was first installed at the Al Riwaq gallery in Bahrain and then at the Deustches Architektur Zentrum (DAZ). The popularity of this exhibition allowed for 'Becoming Istanbul' to became the first Turkish exhibition to be presented in Germany twice within a short span of time.

GG fixated itself with professions and disciplines that had been previously unexplored within a cultural institution in Turkey. The important position of GG has encouraged us to continue and further advance all of its activities in the fields of design and architecture under the roof of Garanti Culture Inc.
