New Security Shield on Internet Banking

To activate the additional security features in the new generation Web browsers, Internet Banking has employed "VeriSign® Extended Validation (EV) SSL" certificates, which also have the 128 bit SSL feature, to enable users to identify fraudulent websites more easily.

If you are using an up-to-date browser that supports this feature, with VeriSign® Extended Validation (EV) SSL, the address bar of your browser will turn to green when you log on to Internet Banking and by clicking the address bar you will be able to access the details of the certificate which verifies the authenticity of garanti.com.tr.

If it has been previously detected that the website is a fraudulent website, the address bar will turn to red.
Some browsers identify this certificate, however cannot take advantage of its available features. These browsers don't have the green address bar feature. However, that doesn't mean that using these browsers is not secure. They just lack the feature that distinguish the fake websites from the real websites.

If you are using an up-to-date browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0, Mozilla Firefox 3.0, Apple Safari 3.2 and Opera 9.6, you will not encounter any problems when logging on to Internet Banking.

To avoid such problems, you need to update your browser as soon as possible from the official website of the software company free of charge.
