KAGİDER and GarantiBank presentation on women entrepreneurs in Turkey.
During the 53rd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) and with the support of the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the United Nations, a presentation entitled “Supporting Women Entrepreneurs: Examples from Turkey” will be made at the United Nations on Tuesday, 10 March 2009. The presentation will begin at 13:15 hours and end at 14:45 hours. The presentation will included speeches delivered by representatives of KAGİDER as a non-governmental organizations and of GarantiBank as a private sector concern. Zeynep Öztekin, the founder of Pan Tarım company, will also make a speech as an example of a woman entrepreneur from Turkey.
Among the subjects that will be touched upon during the “Supporting Women Entrepreneurs: Examples from Turkey” presentation will be the efforts made to support women entrepreneurs in Turkey and examples of their success stories. KAGİDER President Gülseren Onanç will talk about the role that NGOs play in encouraging women entrepreneurs and their contributions towards social peace and welfare in Turkey.
GarantiBank Assistant General Manager Nafiz Karadere will speak about GarantiBank’s attitudes towards corporate responsibility and its approach to entrepreneurship among women. He will be followed by GarantiBank SME Banking Marketing Coordinator Cenk Kaan Gür, who will provide information about GarantiBank’s activities and services designed for women entrepreneurs.
The UN presentation will conclude with a speech entitled “Being a Woman Entrepreneur in Turkey” by Zeynep Öztekin, winner of the “Turkey’s Woman Entrepreneur Competition 2007” award.
