“Golden Compass” award for “Garanti Chats”
The “Garanti Chats” program that GarantiBank has been regularly conducting nationwide in Turkey since 2002 was the recipient of an award at the “8th Golden Compass Public Relations Competition” organized by the Turkish Public Relations Association. Garanti placed first in the “Agenda Management” category in a competition in which a total of 130 projects vied with one another under 12 main and 13 subheadings. The bank accepted the award at a ceremony held at the Sakıp Sabancı Museum on the evening of Monday 15 June 2009.
About Garanti Chats
Under the “Garanti Chats” program, Garanti has to date conducted 60 meetings in 46 provinces. These meetings were attended by representatives of nearly 19,000 small and medium-sized enterprises and provided participants with opportunities to exchange ideas on issues such as regional plans, opportunity analyses, and market assessments. Garanti Chats are designed bring the country’s leading experts on a variety of issues together with business owners and managers in different parts of the country with the aim of coming up with local solutions to common regional problems.
The first in the series of Garanti Chats took place in Gaziantep on 17 May 2002. Since then they have grown in scope and popularity and been held in Adana, Adapazarı, Adıyaman, Afyonkarahisar, Amasya, Antakya, Antalya (6 times), Aydın, Bafra, Bodrum, Bolu, Bursa (2 times), Çanakkale, Çorum, Denizli (2 times), Diyarbakır (2 times), Düzce, Edirne, Elazığ, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Fethiye, Gaziantep (2 times), Giresun, Isparta, Kahramanmaraş, Kars, Kayseri (2 times), Kocaeli, Konya (2 times), Kütahya, Malatya, Manisa, Mardin, Marmaris, Mersin, Nevşehir, Niğde, Rize, Ordu (2 times), Samsun, Sivas, Tekirdağ, Trabzon (2 times), Urfa, Uşak, and Van.
