The İstanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) will be closed to trading on Thursday 1 January 2009. An announcement by the ISE Board of Governors gives the following information about the principles governing trading and clearances that will apply to all ISE markets and exchanges due to the full-day holiday on 1 January 2009.
On the Bonds & Bills Outright Trading Market and the Repo & Reverse Repo Trading Market, there will be no trading or clearances on 1 January 2009.
On the Equities Exchange, there will be no trading sessions on 1 January 2009. Transactions that take place on 30 December 2008 will be cleared on 2 January 2009. Transactions that take place on 31 December 2008 will be cleared on 5 January 2009.
On the ISE Foreign Securities Exchange International Bonds Market, there will be no trading or clearances on 1 January 2009.
According to an announcement by the Turkish Derivatives Exchange (TurkDEX), there will be no trading on 1 January 2009 owing to the official holiday that day. Margin call obligations for transactions taking place on Wednesday 31 December 2008 must be completed by Friday 2 January 2009.
